Title:  Mission Volunteer Stanborough Park Church & Centre

Purpose: To support the pastoral team and centre management with the missional efforts of the church and helping with practical tasks in the church centre for its community rentals and church activities.

Location: Stanborough Park Church, 609 St Albans Road, Watford, WD25 9JL, United Kingdom

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Mission
    • Supporting the church by participating in Missional activities of the church such as:
      1. Toddlers Club - a parent(s) & toddler group which meets weekly in the church center,
      2. Seniors Club - A weekly programme for people who are 60+ in the local community
      3. Messy church – Once a month between Sept- June our church creates an engaging and creative, crafts based church programme for children in the community. 
      4.  Prayer & outreach– Every week the church meets to pray and regularly the church is engaged in feeding the homeless and providing clothing for the disenfranchised through our welfare project.
    • Being involved Sabbath worships across both the traditional and contemporary services.
  2. Helping the centre management with the operations of the centre.
    • meeting and caring for the community groups who hire the facilities
    • setting up/clearing rooms
  3. Youth Ministry
    • Supporting the Youth/Teen Ministry by co-leading Friday, Sabbath programmes & other events such as youth socials, daytrips and community services.

The Length of Appointment: 12-24 Months

Time Commitment: The position requires flexibility in volunteering hours, with one day off each week.

Qualifications: Good standard of spoken English. Pleasant manner, fun-loving, patient, problem-solving ability, dependability and flexibility will help you in this intensive and multi facet ministry. Previous experience in doing missional ministry whether in a local church or further afield is essential. Evidence of experience in youth and teens ministry is also essential.

Support: Training for this position will be provided on site. Team meetings will be held on a regular basis led by the pastoral team. Also, the Associate Pastor will be available for questions and assistance.
