Pathfinders
Pathfinders are boys and girls aged between 10 - 15, from different social, racial and religion backgrounds. Represented in more than 160 countries, with 90,000 offices, and more than 1.5 million participants. They have existed since 1950 as an official programme of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
They usually meet once a week to learn and develop talents, skills and taste for nature. They thrive on outdoor activities like camping, hiking, climbing, exploring forests and caves.
They demonstrate ability with discipline through united order and creativity by manual arts.
Pathfinders avoid the use of tobacco, alcohol and drugs, work as a team trying to be useful in their communities loving God and being friend to people.
Pathfinders offer a wide range of activities including, but not limited to:
Camping and Survival skills
Leadership Training
Activities promoting community pride and involvement through outreach activities such as helping in soup runs, food collection for food bank, cleaning and maintaining city and country parks, visitiing care home, elderly, to mention some.
Interactive training in a variety of recreational, artistic, nature conservation, vocational and outreach areas with badges given upon successful completion.
Personal care and encouragement by a caring staff member. While classrooms have 10 - 30 students, Pathfinders offers 1 staff member to every 8 ratio plus an additional staff member for safeguarding.
