A Momentous Occasion: The Establishment of Warrington Church

Elaine McCartan

When God creates something, He infuses it with the power to grow and multiply. His church is no exception, as the Lord planted and established Warrington Church. God has used visionary pastors and leaders who lived in the community to share in the mission, welcoming those outside, praying and worshiping, and teaching the Word of God. By His grace, that vision has been realised as the church plant has now been officially recognised as Warrington Seventh-day Adventist Church.

It was a momentous occasion on Sabbath 20th July 2024, as the following officiating ministers from the North England Conference (NEC) attended the service:

  • Pastor George Kumi, President
  • Pastor Emanuel Bran, Executive Secretary
  • Elder Michael Agyei-Asare – Treasurer
  • Dr Patrick Herbert, Personal Ministries Director
  • Pastor Julian Kastrati, Ministrial Secretary
  • Pastor Romel Ricarte, Local Pastor

All church members signed their names on the register as the organised body of Christ. The names of the church officers were called, and they were consecrated for service. All agreed to their vows to uphold the Seventh-day Adventist fundamental beliefs. Warrington Church’s newly established choir sang an outstanding song, "Jesus is Coming," which powerfully conveys our greatest message as God’s church.

Dr Herbert preached an empowering sermon, "You Can’t Just Sit There," highlighting the proactive attitude of mission that we must uphold. A plaque from the NEC, recognising the newly organizsd church, was handed to Pastor Romel and the elders to be displayed in the church.

After the fellowship lunch, a few families were moved to share their inspiring testimonies of how the original gathering began, branching out from Liverpool Central and Liverpool North to start a church plant in their local area. It has been a journey from humble beginnings. Songs and music of praise were lifted to give God all the glory for His wonderful work.

Pastor Romel and his family were recognised and appreciated for their unwavering support and for serving as a catalyst in bringing this work to fruition for Warrington Church. The collective prayer of the church is that as God pours out His Holy Spirit, we will be His willing vessels, contributing to the growth of His kingdom.
