One Vision and Macmillan Cancer Support Partnership Launch: A New Dawn for Community Support

One Vision is thrilled to announce the official launch of its partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, marking a significant step forward in the fight against cancer within our community. The launch event, held Wednesday, 17 July, brought together distinguished guests and community leaders, reaffirming our collective commitment to providing hope, support, and care to those affected by cancer. The event was held at the Stanborough Centre, Watford, to a packed audience.

Among the notable attendees was Luther Blissett OBE DL, representing His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, who delivered an inspiring address. We were also honoured to have the presence of Watford's Elected Mayor, Peter Taylor, Vice Chair Sarah Nelmes of Three Rivers District Council, Anton Morgan-Thorne, Macmillan Engagement Manager, and esteemed faith leaders.

Enoch Kanagaraj, founder and Chief Executive of One Vision, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all attendees and emphasised the power of unity in tackling the challenges posed by cancer.

Harjit Singh DL, Chair of Trustees, said, "Today's launch symbolises more than a partnership; it represents our unwavering dedication to our community. Together, with Macmillan Cancer Support, we are stronger and more equipped to bring comfort and hope to those who need it most."

Guest speakers Bep Daliwal and Sharon Platt-McDonald added depth and perspective to the event, sharing their experiences and insights on the impact of community support in the fight against cancer. Their words highlighted the essential role that compassion and collaboration play in providing comprehensive care.

The event highlighted this partnership's collaborative spirit, showcasing how One Vision and Macmillan Cancer Support will work hand-in-hand to provide comprehensive support services. This includes emotional, practical, and financial assistance, ensuring no one faces cancer alone.

Susannah Brunet, One Vision Macmillan Project Manager, praised the initiative: "This partnership is a beacon of hope, demonstrating the incredible impact we can have when we come together for a common cause. It is an honour to be part of this journey."

Mayor Peter Taylor and Vice Chair Sarah Nelmes both reiterated their full support for the initiative, recognising its potential to transform lives within the community. Anton Morgan-Thorne of Macmillan Cancer Support shared his excitement about the collaboration, stating, "Our partnership with One Vision is a testament to our shared goal of improving the lives of those affected by cancer. Together, we will make a difference."

Faith leaders from various communities also spoke, underscoring the importance of faith and solidarity in supporting cancer patients.
