The West Midlands recently celebrated the incredible contributions of our Police Support Volunteers during the Citizens in Policing Awards. The awards event took place at Tally Ho in Birmingham, the West Midlands Police Conference and Banqueting Centre, on Monday 3 June, 2024. This special occasion was hosted by Sam Booth, Head of Citizens in Policing, and attended by Chief Superintendent Richard Harris, who presented the achievements and awards.
Chaplain Obinnaya Iheoma, known to us as Pastor Obi, was among the volunteers who received Long Service Awards that night.
Sam Booth, Head of Citizens in Policing at West Midlands Police, declared, "The winners have all shown tremendous commitment and dedication to policing, and I am proud that we are able to recognise their achievements. Their work is absolutely invaluable. They are all volunteers who give up their time for West Midlands Police, and these awards recognize their hard work and dedication."
Dr Patrick Herbert, Personal Ministries Director, commended the community work of his colleague, stating, "We need more individuals from our church who will take on positions like this and stand tall for Jesus in our community."
