The Brighton & Hove Seventh-day Adventist Church celebrated a key moment in its history with the unveiling of its new building and a new name, Ebenezer Seventh-day Adventist Church. This event, under the theme "Ebenezer; Thus far the Lord has helped us," unfolded over two days, from Sabbath, March 16th, to Sunday, March 17th, 2024, drawing 300 guests. Attendees included dignitaries, pastors, community figures, current and former members of the SEC Administration, and neighbouring Adventist churches.

Hosted by Pastor Seth Adjare, the opening featured a parade, a Pathfinder Drum Corps & Colour Party's Guard of Honour, and speeches delivered by a lineup of Seventh-day Adventist and local officials. The event saw heartfelt contributions from Former SEC Executive Secretary Douglas McCormac, Former SEC President Dr. Emmanuel Osei, and the current SEC President Dr. Kirk Thomas, Excutive Secretaryt Nathan Stickalnd, and Treasury Ann Swaby. The Mayor of Brighton & Hove, Jackie O’Quinn, and Chief Inspector Jonathan Hartley also shared messages that resonated with the attendees, emphasizing the church's role in fostering unity and support within the community.

Dr Osei’s sermon underscored the significance of the Ebenezer milestone, symbolizing divine support across the church's journey. The name "Ebenezer" honours the site's history, once home to a Baptist congregation under the same name. Situated in Brighton & Hove's heart, the church's acquisition of the new building in July 2023 marks a significant shift from renting spaces to owning a permanent site.

The festivities also spotlighted community involvement, with a fellowship lunch, a fundraising concert for building furnishings, and tours showcasing outreach initiatives including a Health Expo and Children's Sabbath School. The event’s success was highlighted by four visitors expressing interest in joining, illustrating the church’s impact on health, education, and spiritual wellness.
