Executive Committee Votes Change in Role to Communication & Media Director

The North England Conference is delighted to announce the appointment of Pastor Joe Philpott as the full-time Communication & Media Director, a decision taken during last month’s Executive Committee meeting. This pivotal change marks a significant step in the Conference's ongoing strategy to strengthen its media and communication capabilities.

Pastor Philpott, who has been serving as a part-time director while also pastoring a church in Coventry, will now dedicate his full attention and expertise to the role of Communication & Media Director. This transition from a 50% directorship to a full-time position underscores the Conference's commitment to a more comprehensive
approach to media and communication.

This development aligns with several strategic initiatives undertaken by the Conference in the past year. In August 2023, the appointment of a Media & Broadcast Technician, Caleb Taylor-Grant, has enhanced the technical capacity of our media operations. Furthermore, the inclusion of a departmental secretary, Bethany Baker, with a background in media has fortified our administrative and operational efficiency in this crucial area.

By bolstering the Communication & Media Department, the North England Conference is better positioned to support our 141 churches and church plants. It will also be instrumental in advancing the operation of our Media Centre in Birmingham. Pastor Philpott’s leadership and passion for media and communication within the Seventh-day Adventist Church are invaluable assets in our mission to connect and uplift our community through impactful media.
