Worthing churches unite in joyful baptism to welcome four souls to the faith

On the sabbath of April 22, 2023, at 3 o’clock in the afternoon, a baptism was held by Worthing Seventh-day Adventist Church at the East Worthing Baptist Church, Worthing, West Sussex, England. Three candidates registered for baptism after series of Bible study by Pastor Seth Adjare. The event was administered by Pastor Seth Adjare, District Pastor of Worthing, Brighton & Hove Churches. Members of both Churches joined the service to celebrate the special occasion.

Prior to the baptism, a potluck was held for lunch by the members of the three churches where everyone shared and enjoyed the meals. The service opened with a prayer, and songs of praise by the congregation filled the hall.  Other participants were also assigned to render to God praises and thanksgiving through their talent. As the strain of the congregation's voice continued to fill the church, the three precious souls who decided to follow Jesus were ushered to the baptistry. With the Deacon's assisting, and the Pastor's hand raised over their heads, one by one, the three precious souls were immersed into the water. Surely, the angels in heaven were rejoicing as these wonderful souls (Lourdes Marimar, Kavin Sampson and Trevor Charles Foulger Lincoln were baptized.

Their sins washed away, ready to live each day walking with Jesus.

Each candidate was accompanied by their family and friends who witnessed the unforgettable day. Before Pastor Adjare walked out of the pool, he asked the congregation for anyone else who wanted to follow Jesus through baptism.  To everyone's surprise, Amparo Zarca Culebra a sister to one of the newly baptized, accepted the Pastor's call. She walked into the baptistry, and everyone witnessed one more soul's sin buried into the water. When God called, she readily answered! There was much rejoicing in everyone's heart. Truly, the Holy Spirit touched her heart, and she made the right decision to accept Jesus as her personal Saviour.

It was a beautiful and a touching event indeed! Finally, the newly baptized were then given tokens of appreciation and introduced to the church. Pastor Adjare offered a special prayer and thereafter, church members lined up to congratulate and welcome the newly baptized.

In Matthew 28:19-20, it says, “Go therefore and make disciplines of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Let us be one in witnessing for Jesus' love to those around us. Many are still waiting to know Him.

May we will be instruments in sharing the gift of salvation, that many will accept Jesus Christ as their Personal Saviour. Let us remain steadfast till the end, and may we hear Him say " Well done, my good and faithful servant. Enter my kingdom:".
