Two New Intern Pastors Join the NEC

Pastor Joe Philpott

The North England Conference has employed two new intern pastors, Thando Mlalazi and Sergio de Sousa, who have answered the call to ministry. They are serving in the Manchester and Leeds district of churches, and were welcomed into ministry by Pastor George Kumi at the Pastoral Team Meeting on 5th July 2022.

Thando Malazi left a computer science career to study theology at Newbold College of Higher Education. His wife Evalyne and his three children Tabitha, Esther, and Deborah will join him in the Manchester North, Oldham, Manchester Southern Asia Knowsley, Warrington, Swinton and Old Trafford churches under the leadership of Pastor Ebenezer Daniel. Thando shared, "I believe in the power of the Gospel and that the Spirit of God that was poured out in great measure at Pentecost is still with us and empowering us to impact the world."

Sergio de Sousa will be joining the Leeds Central, Leeds West, Leeds New Generation and York churches under the tutorage of Pastor Sam Gardner. Graduating from Newbold, Sergio will be joined by his wife Debora and his son Silvio. Sergio said, "I'm looking forward to spending time with my church, studying the word of God with my members, counselling, teaching and practising the Biblical steps of Christianity in my life."

We ask for your prayers for Sergio de Sousa and Thando Mlalazi – as well as for the North England Conference – as we continue to spread the good news to all the world.
