Section 48 - Ofsted inspection (for religious distinctiveness) We are pleased to be able to announce, and give praise to God, that HBSDA School achieved a rating of outstanding for its inspection for religious distinctiveness and the impact it has on pupils' outcomes. (All state-funded schools designated as being a faith school must undergo this specific inspection in addition to its regular (Section 5 or 8) Ofsted inspections.)
This is a fantastic achievement when you realise that there is only one other school (CofE) that has achieved this rating in the West Midlands area. Normally a school would not receive a rating above its regular Ofsted rating; the current rating is good with Outstanding Early Years provision.
Furthermore, HBSDA School being the only state-funded SDA school, this is therefore a historical milestone in the British education system, as they are indeed the first SDA school to have ever been inspected under Section 48. They have now set the benchmark for any other school that might attract state funding.
