On Tuesday 5 July, Robert Voss CBE CStJ, HM Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, unveiled a Covid-19 memorial plaque at the Watford Peace Hospice Care.
The partnership plaque donated by One Vision charity, was given to commemorate the lives lost during the pandemic and to recognise the collaborative work various groups undertook to support those impacted by Covid-19.
In his address, Lord-Lieutenant Robert Voss stated: "As patron of all three organisations, it was an honour and privilege to unveil this poignant plaque in memory of those who have sadly lost their lives to Covid and will never be forgotten."
The unveiling also served to highlight the merger of Watford Peace Hospice Care with Rennie Grove Hospice Care and also featured the ongoing partnership work of One Vision and their community response in Hertfordshire.
Pastor Audrey Andersson, one of the newly elected Vice Presidents of the General Conference, described the excellent care her father, Pastor Patrick Boyle, received during his three-week stay at Watford Peace Hospice. Sharon Platt-McDonald, BUC Director, shared the impact of the loss of 2 relatives from Covid-19 and the life lessons we learn about death and how to live purposefully. She also shared how her faith provided a solid foundation for grief recovery.
One Vision's donation of the Covid-19 plaque is another gesture of their relevance in the community. This registered charity consistently demonstrates the readiness to respond to community needs with the compassion of Christ in practical ways that are relative and impactful for those in need.
Enoch Kanagaraj reflected on the positive impact of working with community entities such as Rennie Grove Hospice Care and Watford Peace Hospice Care. Outlining One Vision's strategic trajectory, Kanagaraj stated, "We have clearly identified in our future vision for us to work more closely together to maximise reaching out to everyone in our community."
We see One Vision expanding its scope and reach in the community, working with individuals of all races, creed and colour, including those from diverse faith groups and those of no declared faith.
The event was hosted by Jackie Tritton, the Hospice's Chief Executive, chaired by Enoch Kanagaraj, a Stanborough Park church member, and One Vision's Founder and CEO together with Harjit Singh, Deputy Lieutenant of Hertfordshire.
