Sabbath 30th April 2022 was a day of double celebration for the Watford Town church family.
In the morning, 14 Pathfinders were invested and 2 adventurers received awards following a difficult year with the Covid-19 pandemic which halted face-to-face sessions. The team overcame this by conducting all the required classes online until normal activities resumed in early 2022. This was a credit to the teaching staff and the students, enabling them to complete their coursework for this investiture.
SEC Pathfinder Director, Pastor Clifford Herman encouraged all in attendance and especially the Pathfinders, that with all the awards they were receiving, all the knowledge that they had amassed, they were a fountain of knowledge. Together with the knowledge gained they were encouraged to take their skills and experiences into the world as ambassadors for Jesus.
Sister Cynthia Goodman, the oldest serving active member of the Watford Town Pathfinder Club, was honoured with a special pin in recognition of her tireless service and support in the Pathfinder department.
Vernon Noel, Area 7 Pathfinder coordinator read the charge for the Pathfinders and Adventurers and the club leader, Caroline Kamara proudly introduced each investee as they received their honours and awards.
The afternoon service was special one for the McLeary family.
Both daughters Gabrielle and Eden, were baptised in a special ceremony flanked with a guard of honour by their Pathfinder peers, special music was presented from family in the Bahamas. Their vows were read by Elder Richard Henry and local Pastor Valentine Roach reminded them, in his presentation, that they are not alone. Pastor Herman also presented them both with special pins in recognition of their decision.
Special guests included school friends and teachers, work colleagues, aunts, cousins and family and friends from the Bahamas, Caribbean and USA who were able to witness the service thanks to Zoom.
Celebrations continued with a gathering of friends, family and visitors who shared in refreshments in the youth hall to end the special day in Watford Town church.
