The NEC Communicator is a monthly newsletter that serves the purpose of spotlighting local church ministries, highlighting upcoming NEC departmental events or initiatives, and sharing newsworthy matters related to the North England Conference. We'll email it to all subscribers on the last Thursday of each month.

Spotlighting local churches

Some 2,000 years ago, Jesus gave His followers the great commission (Matthew 28:18-20). As we look forward to the moment He'll return a second time, our churches across the North of England are faithfully engaged in gospel-sharing initiatives. We want to tell your story and share the excellent work you're doing in your local areas. Why? For two reasons – firstly, as a testimony to the goodness and loyalty of God, and secondly, to demonstrate effective models of ministry that other churches could employ in their local churches.

NEC departmental events or initiatives

Throughout the year, the departments of the North England Conference organise events and initiatives. We want you to be informed about what's happening. We aim to enhance the communication channels between the Office in Nottingham and our local churches. One of the NEC's strategic objectives is to "develop a communication strategy to foster a culture of openness and accountability." Currently, there are several methods of sharing information, and implementing the NEC Communicator adds to that repertoire.

Getting involved

The church is a place of opportunity in which individuals can utilise their God-given spiritual gifts. We'd love members and churches across the NEC to contribute to the Communicator. We're looking for the following:

  • Email marketers – Do you have experience sending email newsletters?
  • Writers – Can you write to us about what's happening in your local church? Can you edit and proofread articles that come in from other churches?
  • Graphic designers – Are you able to design graphics that can be used in a newsletter? We can even provide access to Canva and other tools to help.

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions or have a passion for getting involved, email us at communications@necadventist.org.uk.
