2020 Nobel Peace Prize goes to ADRA-UK Partner the UN World Food Programme

Catherine Anthony Boldeau ADRA Development Education Officer

Congratulations to the UN World Food Programme, one of ADRA’s partners in their world-wide projects for winning the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize.

Bert Smit, CEO, ADRA-UK, said, "ADRA-UK provided seed funding to ADRA Zambia in 2018 and further funding from the 2019 ADRA Appeal to work in drought-affected areas in the region.  This week they have been being awarded $800,000 from the World Food Programme."

The project will be delivered in the drought-affected districts of Gwembe, Alomo, Monzo, Sloma and Shangombo.  This F.A.R.M.S project will assist 104,540 smallholder farms to recover from the negative impact of the drought, as well as prepare for the next cropping season.

We would like to thank all of our donors in the UK for supporting the work that we do.
