Youth Week of Prayer

Youth Week of Prayer

An initiative that started as a Week of Prayer has become a series of meeting, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, following along with the 100 Days Of Prayer program of the worldwide SDA Church.

Ranelagh Church Youth Committee

Since we have all been confined to our houses, and events & programs are being cancelled left and right, the Ranelagh Youth Leaders felt that their was a need for something to uplift the spirits of the youth, to help bring some peace during these worrisome times, and give the youth something to look forward to while self-isolating.
And what better than joining with youth all over the country in praying together! So, from March 21st-28th youth from all over the Irish mission virtually joined hands together in prayer!

The theme for this year’s Youth Week of Prayer was The Embrace: Forgiveness & Reconciliation. Each day we would meet online using Zoom to conduct our meetings. During that week we had some pastors, youth leaders and even some youth lead out the discussions on the topic of forgiveness & reconciliation.
It was truly a blessing to see the youth touched by the lessons and enjoy coming together to pray for one another and those around them. The meetings would last around 40 mins but some of the youth would stay on for another half hour to chat and connect with friends that they weren’t able to see anymore.

They were so glad to have that time to come together, to pray and connect with one another, that they asked to continue the meetings after the week of prayer was over. So, we now meet on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and are following along with the 100 Days Of Prayer.

But don’t just take my word for it, here some words from the youth themselves!

I loved the way the youth were engaged and that everyday a different person was talking and sharing important messages”
– Melita, Ranelagh Church

“It had a good message and it was interactive, when the speaker was good it was fun too”
– Daniel, Ranelagh Church

“It was a privilege and a blessing to study and pray together with likeminded young people and youth leaders across the country. It must have been discouraging for the devil to see the children of God, whom he was pressing hard one every side, press together”
– Omari, Newmarket Church

“I enjoyed the way everyone was given a chance to say their own opinions during discussions”
– Lynn, Ranelagh Church
