ADRA-UK Partners with the TED Family Ministries to Launch their CV19 Listening Campaign

This week, ADRA-UK partnered with the Trans-European Division to launch their EARS 2 Hear Listening Campaign to help equip members to be active listeners during the COVID-19 crisis and beyond. According to experts, the world will face a mental health crisis, due to the fallout from COVID-19. Social isolation and physical distancing have increased levels of anxiety and fear as well as an uncertainty regarding the economic stability of the country and the future of work in the ‘new norm’.

ADRA’s commitment to wellbeing is more than just about physical wellbeing, but includes mental health as well. We are pleased that Family Therapist, Karen Holford, Family Ministries Director and Helgi Jónssen, Health Director and Psychiatrist have produced superb resources.  These include a Zoom training video, a sample script and telephone listening worksheet.

Speaking about the campaign, Bert Smit, CEO of ADRA-UK said, "I am delighted that ADRA-UK, through it’s I AM Urban initiative, is able to partner with the TED on this campaign. We appreciate that not everyone can participate in the direct community outreach, due to a variety of reasons. However, everyone can connect with someone else and take the time to listen to them."

If you wish to train to be an active listener, please see the link on the poster below.
