Three precious souls returned to the Lord during the SEC Camp Meeting held in Prestatyn, North Wales, on Sabbath 22nd June 2019.
Andrew Webb, Grace Manza and Eva Owusu, who had attended the Camp Meeting which took place from Monday 17th June to (Sunday 23rd June 2019) were so touched by the powerful messages delivered each evening by guest speaker, Dr David McKenzie, that they decided to give their lives to the Lord through baptism.
The day begun at 6am with a special session of prayer and praise which recognized all the blessings which had come as a result of being at this year's Camp Meeting. It truly lived up to its theme of "Retention" as members not only testified of God keeping them in the spiritual race but also in one case that the efforts of sharing Jesus with local residents while shopping in Tesco led to those individuals accepting an invitation to join members at the Camp Meeting to experience a blessing for themselves.
In his presentation, "From the Red Sea to Mount Sinai," Pastor Juan Carlos Patrick, full of humour and charisma, encouraged members to be the change that they want to see in others and that churches are not called to be places of information but rather those which bring transformation.
SEC Sabbath School Director, Pastor Michael Mbui, then challenged churches to be more effective in ministry through spiritual nurture, fellowship, mission and church growth endeavours. This was practically demonstrated through a number of personal testimonies of various projects making an impact in local communities within the SEC.
In his final message to the SEC Campers, Dr David McKenzie, who has become a much-loved son of the SEC community, told members to "Hold on, for God will turn things around." He said: "Fasten yourself to the Lord, remember where He has taken you from and never give up for God has called you to finish this race and will not let you down."
SEC President, Emmanuel Osei thanked Dr David McKenzie and singing evangelists, The Chitans for their ministry during the week while also making presentations to all other invited special guests who officiated in the children, teen and youth departments.
Fresh from his travel to Ghana, BUC President, Ian Sweeney offered a prayer of thanksgiving for all that had transpired during this special spirit-filled week.
As members sung "you are here, turning lives around, I worship you, I worship you," it was clear for all to see that the presence of God had truly been at this year's Camp Meeting and will long live in the memories and hearts of those who came.
