After Covid-19, life has been challenging. Things are different both in the Religious and Political worlds. Sadly, the world is changing rapidly from bad to worse. People are experiencing crises in all spheres of life.
I am reminded of two quotes from Pen of Inspiration on the world's present condition.
The present is a time of overwhelming interest to all living. Rulers and statesmen, men who occupy positions of trust and authority, thinking men and women of all classes, have their attention fixed upon the events taking place about us. They are watching the relations that exist among the nations. They observe the intensity that is taking possession of every earthly element and they recognize that something great and decisive is about to take place—that the world is on the verge of a stupendous crisis. —Prophets and Kings, 537 (c. 1914).
The calamities by land and sea, the unsettled state of society, and the alarms of war, are portentous. They forecast approaching events of the greatest magnitude. The agencies of evil are combining their forces and consolidating. They are strengthening for the last great crisis. Great changes are soon to take place in our world, and the final movements will be rapid ones. —Testimonies for the Church 9:11 (1909).
If you believe in the prophecies of the scriptures, the present crisis will be more severe as time passes. There is nothing man can do apart from turning to God, who has power over every problem on earth.
Therefore, Hampstead Seventh-Day Adventist Church is hosting a two-week series on "CHRIST FOR THE CRISIS" from September 16-30, 2023. In this series, you will find answers to life's most challenging questions and hope in Christ, the author and finisher of our faith.
When Humans face a crisis, they knock at every door available to overcome it but sadly overlook the only door open in Christ Jesus. In this series, why not knock on the door of Jesus Christ and see what he can do for you? The scriptures say in Psalms 34:8. "Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him". We invite everyone to come and taste this God who has a solution to all your problems.
The Main speaker for this series is Pastor Ian Sweeney, one of the gifted speakers the Adventist church has produced in the British Isles. He will open our hearts and minds to Jesus through the word of God and show us how to overcome the present crisis. We also have another presenter, Pastor Tremon Jackson, a young preacher who loves the Lord and is burdened to share Jesus with this troubled world.
