Prayer

Key to Revival and Reformation

Prayer ministry is inseparably linked with Bible study and telling others about God’s saving grace. Prayer and Bible study bring us into the very presence of God. It is here we are cleansed from sin and empowered by the Holy Spirit to be concerned and do something about the needs of others.

The twenty-first century Christian recognises the urgency of the times in which they live – the last days before Jesus comes again. To fulfil their God-given role, a revival and reformation must take place.

Revival is a renewal of the spiritual life. Reformation takes place when the Holy Spirit is allowed to change ideas and habits so the individual puts God’s ministry as their foremost goal.

The purpose of this webpage is to support the world church initiative of Revival and Reformation by:

  • Sharing about resources and websites.
  • Linking together the variety of prayer groups within our church.
  • Advertising events.

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with them...Revelation 3:20

A revival of true godliness among us is the greatest and most urgent of all our needs. To seek this should be our first work... Our heavenly Father is more willing to give His Holy Spirit to them that ask Him, than are earthly parents to give good gifts to their children. But it is our work, by confession, humiliation, repentance, and earnest prayer, to fulfil the conditions upon which God has promised to grant us His blessings. A revival need be expected only in answer to prayer. Selected Messages, vol 1, p 121

The time has come for a thorough reformation to take place. When this reformation begins, the spirit of prayer will actuate every believer, and will banish from the church the spirit of discord and strife. Testimonies, vol 8, p 251

They all joined together constantly in prayer along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus and with his brothers. Acts 1:14

It is the order of God that those who bear responsibilities should often meet together to counsel with one another and pray earnestly for that wisdom which He alone can impart. Unitedly make known your troubles to God. Talk less: much precious time is lost in talk that brings no light. Let brethren unite in fasting and prayer for the wisdom that God has promised to supply liberally. Testimonies, vol 1, p 624
