Sam O Davies

 

Sam Davies is the Communication and Media Director of the British Union Conference. Before his election in 2021, he led the Communication and Media Department of the South England Conference (SEC) since 2015. As an ordained pastor, he has served churches in both London and the provinces of the SEC.

He began his studies for ministry in 1989 at Valley View University in Accra, Ghana, before enrolling at Newbold College of Higher Education in 1991. He studied theology and Communication before pursuing an MA in Journalism at the University of Westminster, London.

Davies has a keen interest in current affairs and considers it necessary for an informed ministry. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Journalists (CIoJ), a member of the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) and holds membership with the Institute of Internal Communication (IoIC). His membership with the IoIC compelled him to accomplish the Professional MA in Internal Communication Management at Solent University, Southampton. His varied endeavours include, attaining an Advanced Certificate in Public Relations and a Public Relations Leadership Diploma with the PRCA.

His other interests in ministry include helping families resolve their difficulties and preparing young couples for marriage. He trained in Therapeutic Counselling and as a Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE).

Davies is married to his beloved wife Marcia, and they have three children.
