North Bristol Senior Citizens' Celebration Day

1st November 2018

At North Bristol's 'Senior Citizens' Celebration Day', the congregation came together to celebrate and acknowledge its senior members with a touching tribute and a blessed day. The church was filled with people, members and visitors alike to support not only the older church members but also a baby dedication82028 for Kofi Boateng, son of Christian and Selina Boateng. They brought along their friends and family to stand alongside them as their child was dedicated to God, remembering that age-old African proverb, 'it takes a village to raise a child'.

Throughout the day, the senior members shared their personal stories. These tales detailed the different ways in which God touched their lives through their earlier days and brought them into the Church. Their favourite hymns were also sung in between their stories.

This 82029was followed afterwards by a sermon from local minister Pastor Royston Smith called, 'A Seat at the Table'. He compared how man's exclusivity in regard to how we accept people contrasted with the Father's willingness to be inclusive when it comes to being a recipient of His love and sitting around His table.

Once everybody had been spiritually fed, a special lunch was held for the seniors organised and catered by members of the congregation to great effect and appreciation from not only the older members but the visitors who were present.
