The Mission - Leamington Spa Adventist Church
8th November 2018
We are getting 'creative' and oh so 'crafty' at The Mission - Leamington Spa Adventist church. Our Creative Cafes have taken the community by storm and since its conception till up to November this year we have made many new friends from toddlers to grandparents and all ages in between. It all took off with a Craft Cafe in the school holidays where the parents and children from our long-standing Toddler group could come for a crafty morning. Mums and older siblings made icicles for the upcoming festive season while toddlers coloured wooden nativity plaques, moulded clay hedgehogs or created unique Hama bead designs. With 65 parents, children and helpers, church members were buzzing at The Mission.
This was followed with a Ladies Cafe, where our mums shared some 'me time' with over 30 daughters, mums and grand mums. It was another chance to get crafty and enjoy the homemade delicacies from our amazing cafe!
At The Leamington Adventist Mission, we love to get our families together and this includes the families in our community. On the first Sunday of the month we have our Creative Cafe at The Mission and on the second Sabbath of the month we have our 'Crafternoons'. Attendance has grown to over 40 and includes men, women and children of all ages both from the church family and the community. We do découpage, book folding, card making, mosaics, beading, decorative painting...and the list goes on and on!
We are delighted that through our 'creative' and 'crafty' efforts we have made many new friends in the community and we look forward to continuing this new ministry! You can see what we are up to on our Facebook page, 'Creative Cafe at The Mission'.
We would like to thank Carolyn Schulz and her assistant Davia Taskuniene for their leadership, hard work and commitment to this new successful ministry.
