MICKLEFIELD LADIES' INTERNATIONAL PRAYER DAY
10th March 2017
On Sabbath 4 March, Micklefield church held its Ladies' International Prayer Day, organised by the Women's Ministries leader, Jacynthia. Special prayer was offered for unity through the Holy Spirit and strength for all sisters worldwide. It was also a time to remember victims of abuse and to pray that God would bring freedom and healing.
The lesson study was led by Kathleen Hanson (BUC Education director), with active discussion on the role of the Holy Spirit within the church. Members commented that they had really appreciated the lesson study approach and the fresh format that it took.
The sermon was delivered by Pastor Wilfred Blake, was entitled 'What Happened after the Wedding Bells' and was based on Jeremiah 30:10-15. The central theme of the message was if we say we love God, then we have to stay true to the 'marriage' and to the relationship that we have entered into with God. We were also reminded that when there is a breakdown in the union, God leaves room for reconciliation and is able to restore and breathe life back into the relationship.
Jacynthia's goal for the day was "to unite the ladies of the church and all the members with God and to strengthen the spiritual bonds held with each other." By the responses given at the end of the day it was hoped this had been achieved.
